Rice Motor Company, a proud partner of Guilford County Schools, recently donated a Prius hybrid vehicle to the Automotive Services Program at Weaver Academy in Greensboro.
The Automotive Services Program is designed for students interested in a career in the automotive industry, a field that is rapidly changing as the number of electric and hybrid vehicles on our roads increase. With the North Carolina Toyota Battery Manufacturing plant being built just outside of Greensboro, the need for technicians skilled in repairing battery-powered vehicles is only growing.
Rice values the opportunity to invest in our community’s youth. With the donation of the Prius hybrid, Weaver students will have the unique opportunity for hands-on learning about the technology in today’s alternative energy vehicles.
